My husband and I spent 8 full days (not including the 2 days it took to travel there and back from Toronto) in Seychelles. We flew into Mahé and then went to La Digue and Silhouette Island.
We were in Seychelles for Carnival which was really exciting. It was a beautiful celebration of cultures. People flew in from all over the world to celebrate and it was a wonderful event to be part of. Such positive energy, dancing and endless smiles.
I also loved staying at the Hilton Northolme. Our accommodation was unreal. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed.

Got to hold a Coco de Mer which is a watermelon-sized nut that’s sacred to the people. The Coco De Mer can be sold for thousands of dollars to prospective buyers, given a serial number and certificate of authenticity. If you’re lucky, you can see some growing wild in protected areas. We got to see several and actually hold one which was really cool.
If you love seafood, you’ll be happy in Seychelles as there are plenty of dishes that include fresh seafood.
